Why is personal development important?

In my corporate experience so much of what we get is due to the way we project ourselves. Even when we try with the best of intentions to create a desired image, we can not maintain it when the pressure is on (and it is always on). Under pressure we default to behaviour that is supported by our belief-system or that which we believe are hidden inside of us. So this type of coaching is about who you want to be… your potential best. Knowing what you want to project is not enough, the body never lies. You will not appear authentic and believable without addressing what is true for you. This is inside-out coaching. In my experience those who get the promotions in business are generally not the most knowledgeable, but those who create the impression that they are. The difference is related to our levels of emotional intelligence. Life philosophy coaching deal with this as the unconscious levels of emotion, as it influences behaviour.

What is meta-coaching™?

It is a coaching methodology that was developed by Dr M. Hall and Michele Duval. Michael Hall has his Ph.D. in Psychology and worked with Richard Bandler who is one of the foremost NLP developers in the world. Michele Duval has recently appeared in the book about “Secrets Exposed of Expert Coaches” and was one of the first coaches in the field, partly founding the ICF. Meta means higher in Latin. And coaching refers to a structured conversation. Together Michael and Michele developed the intellectual property of what is called meta-coaching™ as a solution to get to the heart of the matter. There are various scientific models for structured conversation, but what makes meta-coaching™ really effective is its sensorial goal-orientated approach.

What is NLP?

NLP is commonly used instead for neuro-linguistic programming. It developed from the study of techniques experts used in the field of cognitive and behavioural psychology. It is the study of advanced communication models and self mastery through the use of words and how it stems from our neurological programming from nature and nurture. NLP is well known for its magic or known by practitioners for its anchoring techniques. This is how I did my fire walk. Only thing is, there is no magic, it is the implementation of the link between the mind and body.

If I am the expert – why do I need a coach?

Professionals are lonely at the top. They develop and nurture relationships with staff, but who looks after the leader? A coach provides a confidential sounding board for their ideas and motivation for action. A best friend can also provide confidentiality, if you are prepared to place that kind of burden on a good friendship.
